Ingredients

1 whole onion of your choice

2-1/2 cups flour
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tsp pepper
-
2 tsp TBQ All Purpose Seasoning

1 bottle/can of beer of choice
-
1/4 cup water
-
Oil for cooking (should be enough oil to cover the onion rings in the pan you are using
Directions
Cut onion into rings and break apart rings from each other - soak onion rings in an ice water bath while you’re working on the batter
In a bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups of flour (the other cup of flour will be used later on), baking powder, salt, pepper, TBQ All Purpose Seasoning
Add in your beer and water to the fry mix and mix well to combine - Your batter should be similar to a pancake batter
Heat oil in a pan to 350 degrees F
Take onion rings out of water bath and pat dry lightly- Place onion rings in a bowl and add in 1 cup of flour and mix to coat the onion rings evenly
Dip onion rings into the beer batter and then place a single layer of onion rings in the pan to fry. Fry on one side for 3-5 minutes and then turn and fry the other side for another 3 minutes
Repeat process of battering and drying your onion rings until they are all fried
Add a sprinkle of salt on top of onion rings after they are done frying.
